Further Information

What to bring with you:

Try to bring enough kit to last you for your stay.  Kit can include t-shirts or football shirts, shorts, socks, boots, trainers, shinpads and a drinks bottle.  Please try and wear-in your boots before visiting the school.  Some new boots can often give you very sore feet.  Moulded studs are probably more suitable for our summer time courses.  Casual clothes for the evenings and toiletries.  A laundry service is available for £10. Please ensure that all belongings are named including boots and shinpads, many children will possess the same replica shirts and boots and this will help if they get lost.

Accommodation:

BCSSA students will be accommodated in The Manchester Didsbury Travelodge Hotel which is a comfortable, modern hotel in South Manchester, conveniently situated adjacent to our Parrswood Campus.   BCSSA will be taking over the entire hotel.

It is ideally located 4.9 miles from Manchester International Airport and just 6 miles south of Manchester City centre.

The Manchester Didsbury Travelodge Hotel is a 4-storey modern building

The players will be allocated twin or triple rooms with modern facilities. Every room has its own en-suite bathroom housing a bath and showering facilities. There is a remote controlled TV in every room  Also for older players there will be complimentary tea and coffee making facilities. Towels will be provided throughout the stay.

The double and triple rooms are Travelodge family rooms which consist of a double bed, a bed settee and a pull out bed on a base. These beds are superior to the student accommodation that we have used in the past but we cannot guarantee any player that they will necessarily be allocated the double bed.

The double beds are made up, while the sofa bed and pull out bed linen is available for players to make on arrival.

BCSSA Bank

All money, passports and travel documents may be left in the BCSSA Bank which can be accessed daily.

Pocket Money

Parents and Guardians always ask us how much pocket money is required. The amount that players bring varies widely. The following is  a guide only. A small amount of pocket money is all that is required for the tuck shop The cost of evening visit to Parrswood Entertainment Complex is generally under £10.   Many players like to purchase football merchandise on the days that we visit a Premiership Club.

We recommend that all residents deposit their money and any valuables in our Soccer Schools bank for security.  The bank is open daily  to withdraw funds.

Mobile Phones

Traditionally most players like to bring their mobile phones with them to our Summer Camps. However, these remain at all times the responsibility of the players and BCSSA can not be held responsible for any loss or damage.

Telephoning home:

We advise all students to call home on their arrival to ensure that their parents do not worry about them.  International calls are cheaper at weekends or between 18.00 and 08.00 Monday – Friday.

A 24-hour telephone number will be given to all Parents and Guardians prior to the camp. Arrangements can be made to talk to players on this number.

Parents can also ring the BCSSA office number and leave a message However, students cannot speak to their parents on the office line.
